Espalier

The espalier is the most widespread grapevine cultivation technique in the world. It is characterized by a vertical vegetative wall that maximizes light interception by the leaf system.

By employing various pruning techniques, it is possible to achieve different training systems, such as Guyot, Sylvoz, and Spurred Cordon. Modern espalier systems are constructed using open-section steel posts, which are better suited for under-vine weeding and mechanical harvesting. To meet and facilitate the diverse needs of the farmer, Comavit offers five different types of wire slots. The support wires for the canopy can be made of AISI304 stainless steel or zinc-aluminum wire "PLUS" with low elongation.

Should the use of movable wires be required for canopy containment, these can be implemented using specific spacers, springs, collars and chains.
